I came across the SX SJMB-62 CAR and loved the style of this bass. Again like all SX guitars and bass it is made from good tone wood. Not plywood. It has a solid alder body with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets. The guitar is said to have great action due to its well designed neck and adjustable bridge. The SX SJMB-62 CAR as two passive pickups and a Scale length: 34". 64" overall length. String spacing at the bridge is 2 3/8". This bass I feel boasts great classic looks and would look the part in any band. At the time of this post it was selling at an amazing $149.95. Normally with budget guitars you get what you pay for but SX really do make great guitars. I feel the many reviews on the Internet speak for themselves. And as an owner of the SX custom handmade J bass I speak from my experience.

SX Deimos Guitar

When looking through the SX range of guitars I came across the SX Deimos. If you thought SX guitars were good well they have exceed with this one. Classic design with real high end features. This really has the features of guitars with a much higher price tag. So what as the SX Deimos got going for it you may ask. It is embellished with a solid Mahogany arch top body, set-in Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and trapezoidal inlays and full body and neck binding. It has 22 jumbo frets and Grover Die Cast tuners. Over all length of this guitar is 40" including strap button with a scale length of 24.7". The body is 2" thick at the edges and the weight of this guitar is 10lbs. What makes this guitar even more desirable are the electrics. One thing I am a sucker for in guitars is one with a natural finish . This guitar simply looks beautiful. This guitar is a Limited edition with case. It has a solid ash body with a high gloss shine. Flame maple neck and fret board. It also as a pearoid pickguard and 3 powerful single coil pickups. The guitar is full size, Scale length 25.5". The following picture really shows how beautiful this guitar is. SX do a fretless model of their popular models such as the P and J bass plus some other interesting models. I was looking at the SX BG-180TM 3TS Fretless and rather liked it. It is made from 3- piece alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. It uses both P and J bass style pickups for a great variety of sounds. And its light weight at 9lb. Like all SX guitars it is cheap selling at under $140.

SX Guitars I Got My Eye On

I am thinking of getting another SX bass guitar and the one I got my eye on is the SX SJB-62C VYW Vintage Yellow. Its based on the fender P Bass and looks great. Also features a jazz bass pickup on the bridge for a bigger range of sounds. I have listened to it on a music video too and it sounds good. Again like all their guitars it is cheap. I also like the stratocaster they do too the SX SST57. Photos below. Like I say cant believe quality and the sound of these guitars for the money.

My SX Bass

Below is a photo of my SX Bass. SX Custom Handmade Vintage Series. I love the matching headstock and the great tone of this bass. It feels great to play. The body is Alder wood and the neck maple with rosewood fingerboard. Pickups are spot on. My bass has a more fender shape headstock unlike some models that go to bit of a point. Over all I just love it and will most probably get another at some point. Maybe a Fender P Bass type. I'm also liking their stratocasters and telecaster style guitars.

Click on picture for full size image.

Welcome to my blog

I have set up this blog for owners and people interested in SX Bass Guitars and SX Guitars. I bought one at Christmas and was over moon with it. It was my best bass guitar buy in a long time. I managed to get my hands on SX Custom Handmade Vintage Series which I believe is built round the 1962 Fender Jazz Bass. The quality is excellent and sounds fantastic. When I bought it I thought this is a great project bass and was set in mind to change the pickups and do all sorts of things to it. But on getting it home and having a closer look and plugging it in decided they was nothing I wanted to do to it and liked it just the way it was. I could not believe how it compared to my Mexican Fender Jazz Bass. SX make guitars very much like Fender and Gibson and other great models. On this blog I will post pictures of my bass and hope to show you pictures and videos of these great guitars.
